Peer Review Process

All submission to JEMR are reviewed by at least two reviewers. In addition to members of the editorial board of the journal, recognized specialists in the area of the article will be asked for reviews. The names of the reviewers are not disclosed to the authors unless signed by the reviewer. Based on the journal's review criteria, the reviewers provide detailed feedback to the author and recommend acceptance, revision or rejection of the manuscript. The editor-in-chief makes the final decision. A manuscript may be accepted subject to revisions, in which case the author is expected to submit a revised manuscript together with an item by item list of changes as soon as possible, but not later than 2 months after receipt of the editorial decision. The articles are published immediately after acceptance of the revised manuscript. The editorial policy is aimed towards fast publication; the delay between submission and publication lies typically between two and four months.

Publication Frequency

The Journal of Eye Movement Research publishes about five issues per year, each with about six articles. If necessary, the number of issues appearing in a year can be higher than usual. Articles are published as soon as they have been accepted in the final form.

In addition, the Proceedings of the biennial European Conference on Eye Movements (ECEM) are published in the Journal of Eye Movement Research.
