Commentary on the Study and Critical Edition of «Las dos bandoleras y fundación de la Santa Hermandad de Toledo», a comedy attributed to Lope de Vega

Abstract

The following article presents the master's thesis «Estudio y edición crítica de Las dos bandoleras y fundación de la Santa Hermandad de Toledo, comedia atribuida a Lope de Vega», which reciewed a prize on behalf of the Swiss Society for Hispanic Studies in 2020. The aim of this work was to rescue a comedy attributed to Lope de Vega in order to question and try to demonstrate its presumed authorship. Our method of analysis was based on a combination of metrical, orthological and stylometric factors, but we also worked on the writing context of the work and its historical and legendary themes.
