Abstract

This article is mainly devoted to presenting the manuscripts of the Argentinian writer Jorge Luis Borges kept at the Bodmer Foundation in Geneva. After recalling the publication of the most important manuscripts acquired by the foundation —“El Sur” and “Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius” (by Presses Universitaires de France in 2010)— and that of “Dos semblanzas de Coleridge” (by Notari editions in 2018), it proceeds to the study of two unpublished manuscripts, one dedicated to the work of William Butler Yeats and the other to the work of James Joyce initially and then to the novel Das Glasperlenspiel by Hermann Hesse. Some of the main characteristics of these manuscripts are analysed and the identification of their hitherto unknown fate is proposed.
