Access to audiovisual sources on Spanish-related topics in today’s Swiss archives is marked by the changes brought about by digitisation. Maintaining scientific integrity in research must be adapted to the new complexity of working with such sources. First and foremost, it is necessary to know what types of archives, platforms and sources are found in Switzerland that can be useful for dealing with topics related to Spain. In this case, we seek out concrete examples that focus mainly on the Spanish Civil War and Spanish emigration to Switzerland since the late 1950s. In addition, the article contains a reflection on the possibilities that these materials offer to rethink the issues of historical memory and democratic memory in Spain from a transnational perspective.
