This manuscript delves in the heroic construction of Father Manuel Vergara, the warrior-priest, in the first season of 30 coins, a Spanish TV series by Alex de la Iglesia. This study analyses the continuance and actualization of the most classical epic discourse in a pop TV product —although envisioned cinematographically—, detailing the generic, thematic, ideological, and spatial construction of unreal in a tale capable of conjoining the archaic, and even mythical, with the contemporary.
