Keywords:

In this article, we present the materials available to us to study the linguistic repertoire of Spanish exiles in France after the end of the Spanish civil war. After a brief historical introduction that allows us to situate the Republican exodus within the group of migrations of Spaniards in France, we introduce the diverse oral and written sources at our disposal for the knowledge of this population. Through the analysis of a sample for each one of the sources studied, we indicate what type of contact phenomena can be detected in them and we observe the differences according to what stage of the integration process they bear witness to. We also present the CAREXIL-FR project and its interest in studying the earliest stages of Spanish/French contact among Spanish refugees.
