Around the mid-1960s, Antonio Porta and Romano Ragazzi collaborated and experimented with the possibilities offered by the hybridisation of poetic language and pictorial language. This is a significant episode, which, although less known than other similar experiences conducted in the Neo-Avant-Garde area, allows us to grasp some facets of the fervent creative phase of experimentation that Porta went through at that pinnacle. This contribution therefore reconstructs the genesis and chronology of the works and proposes an analysis of the process and outcomes of the collaboration, situating it amid Porta’s initial phase to verbo-visual forms, a decisive moment in his creative trajectory.
Keywords: Antonio Porta, Romano Ragazzi, visual poetry, Italian Neo-Avant-Garde.
