Abstract

The purpose of this essay is to critically examine the textual and intertextual strategies that interconnect Renga’s multilingual sentences. Renga (1969) was an experiment of «poème collectif», inspired by the Japanese tradition of renga, in which took part Octavio Paz, Jacques Roubaud, Edoardo Sanguineti, Charles Tomlinson. The second part of the article explores Sanguineti’s specific perspective, because the example of the Italian poet – apparently less involved in the plural project – will allow to verify the effectiveness of some collective dynamics of writing.

Keywords: renga, poème collectif, co-authorship, multilingualism, intertextuality.
