Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

HASBonline Guidelines

1. Manuscripts submitted are subject to a peer-review process to determine publication.

2. Manuscripts submitted as Word files can be uploaded directly to the online publication platform. The editorial office will provide the necessary login details.

3. Maximum length of articles: 90,000 characters including spaces, indexes and footnotes. Font styles and formatting:
Text: Arial 11pt, 1.5 line spacing, left alignment;
Footnotes: Arial 10pt, single line spacing, left alignment

4. Citations and terms in Latin and Romanized Greek text (transliteration) should be italicized. Modern terms and ‘so-calls’ should be set in single quotation marks. Greek text should be set in an Unicode-compliant font such as “Alkaios”.

5. The author’s name, address and e-mail should appear at the end of the article (these will not be visible to the peer reviewers).

6. Footnotes (at the bottom of the page, footnote numbers before punctuation), bibliography (following the text) should conform to DAI guidelines and the author-year system (see DAI keyword list). 

7. Images (300 dpi) and line drawings (600 dpi) should be sent as separate, individual files in TIFF format. Picture credits are to appear in an index of illustrations that follows after the bibliography and conforms to DAI guidelines. Authors are responsible for all image copyrights.
