This article may be a step in the constitution of an environmental history of the relationships between science and poetry. The emergence of plant physiology at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries lead scientists to conduct poetic and formal research. Describing the essential link between plant organs and their environment means negotiating a new articulation between the scientific criteria of the emerging discipline and the criteria of poetry. Solutions are then sketched out which could respond to nowadays need to awaken a new interest in the interconnections between man and nature.
Keywords: plant physiology, poetry, poem, form, science, ecology, relationship.
