La preposición latina IUXTA: un recorrido por textos peninsulares desde el siglo XI al XVII

Abstract

The aim of this work is to present the journey of the Latin preposition IUXTA from the 11th to the 17th centuries in the Iberian Peninsula through the analysis of every record of this preposition in CORDE and CHARTA corpora. Some crucial issues have to be taken into account: diachronic matters, the records’ geographical position and the preposition semantic evolution from the sense of proximity ‘next to’, which is the prime in Latin, to the sense of accordance ‘according to’, which is the most usual during the Middle Ages. Furthermore, attention will be paid to the texts’ typology it more frequently appears in.
