Focus and Scope
Linguistik online has been founded in 1998. At this time, online journals were a completely new concept, and scientific publications on the internet were still frowned upon by many scientists. Linguistik online was one of the very first online journals in the fields of linguistics. The journal always was, and still is, available free of charge to everybody interested.
Linguistik online publishes between four and seven issues a year, most of them covering a broad range of linguistic fields. However, there are special issues dealing with specific questions as well, most of them edited by guest editors.
