The article focuses on the study of a small group of nominal derivatives with the unstressed vowel suffix -a, -e, -o in Spanish and it is based on the information and evolution of lexicographical information provided in different dictionaries of the XVIIIth and XIXth centuries. The integration and changes of these derivatives in the Spanish lexical system will be analyzed through the different formal and semantic relationships that they established with other formations derived from the same lexical base, both with other vocalic suffixes (apunte-apunto, descuaje-descuajo) or with other deverbal nominalizations (anticipo-anticipación, desalojo-desalojamiento). The analysis of these examples will help to reconstruct part of the evolution of these suffixes in modern Spanish.
