We are delighted to announce the publication of Volume 2, Number 1 (Part 1) of the journal Language Policy in Africa (LPIA).
Read more about New publicationsLanguage Policy in Africa (LPIA) is a journal supporting the idea that African languages are key to Africa's development, also in the context of decolonisation. LPIA seeks original and sound articles that may help to shape practical, efficient, rational, and inclusive African language-based policies on the whole continent.
LPIA is open-access, double-blind peer-reviewed. There are no Article Processing Charges. It is published twice a year under the auspices of the Edinburgh Circle on the Promotion of African Languages (ECPAL), Initiative Afrique of the University of Bern.

This special issue consists of the proceedings of the 3rd International conference held in Bamako (Mali) from July 28 to 31, 2025, on scientific and technical terminology in African languages, literacy, and lexicography as tools for the scholarship contributing to the promotion of language policy on the African continent.
