Costs and funding

The publication of journals, books and book series on BOP is free of charge for researchers of the University of Bern. However, any costs for third-party services (editing, proofreading, typesetting) are borne by the editors, and, in the case of individual volumes, by the authors. 

To keep the costs of the publications as low as possible, BOP supports the publishers with technical solutions and special conditions negotiated with various third-party providers.

Publications on BOP are primarily electronic. A print-on-demand option is also available. The cost of printed copies is billed directly to the purchaser by the print-on-demand provider.
