Our proposal aims to examine the semantic motivation underlying the formation and structuring of terms related to sustainable gastronomy in French. This study is part of an interdisciplinary perspective, at the intersection of analogical linguistics (cf. Monneret 2004, 2014, 2018), cognitive psychology (cf. Hofstadter/The Fluid Analogies Research Group 1995; Gentner/Holyoak/Kokinov 2001) and cognitive linguistics (cf. Lakoff/Johnson 1980, 1999). The analysis of the terms will be conducted based on several key theoretical notions, in particular the regularizing and categorical functions of analogy, the problem of compositionality as well as semantic motivation.
The corpus under review was created as part of the MED-GREEN project. Examining Models of Local Livelihood, Green Building, and Sustainable Mobility in Mediterranean Areas through Discursive Negotiation and Active Citizenship (Start-Up DM 737/2021, Intervention Line “Interdisciplinary Research Initiative on Cross-Cutting Rilievos for the PNR” CUP F25F21002720001), concerns the terms present within the discourses of gastronomic bioregionalism in Corsica.
