Abstract
The article presents a reflection, both theoretical and practical, on the implementation of a cultural mediation programme at the Unithèque site of the Bibliothèque cantonale et universitaire de Lausanne (BCUL). It draws on the library's strategic role in the cultural ecosystem of the Dorigny university campus to present an overview of the current outreach programme and formulates avenues for its possible expansion. Two theoretical approaches to cultural mediation enable us to think of the library as a place that favours participation, dialogue and the appropriation of historical and scientific collections. The article identifies the users concerned, the possible partnerships and pleads for a collaborative approach with regard to cultural programming. It concludes with concrete proposals for implementation and an assessment of the human and material resources required for the success of the project.
